Education for Sustainability
Education for Sustainability CLG is a non- profit social enterprise aimed at increasing climate literacy and fostering behavioural change in Ireland. Founded by Susan Adams in 2017, as a response to the escalating decline of the natural world, it is our mission to ensure that the young people of today are educated about the climate crisis and that they have the knowledge, skills and tools to take action so they can be informed and empowered stakeholders for the future.

Education for Sustainability executes a variety of educational programmes such as workshops, teacher training and an 8-week climate literacy course for 6th class up to transition year. It is our vision to create a world where young people are actively engaged in taking action for sustainable development by making environmental education and sustainability a fundamental part of the national curriculum.

Environmental Stewardship in Schools
We are dedicated to empowering students to make their schools plastic-free. We have created a plastic free skills toolkit which has supported 44 schools to become plastic free. We promote our step-by-step method that examines the causes and effects of single-use plastic and guides students to become part of the solution to the problem. Our workshops encourage students to take initiative, to educate their peers and to campaign to be plastic-free.

Support Education for Sustainability as a Corporate Responsibility
We are looking to work with governments, public authorities and private entities to promote and enact policies and legislation relating to environmental sustainability and climate change. Education for sustainability has engaged 31,865 students from 345 schools across the country. We have completed 378 action projects and have helped 44 schools to become plastic free. We are committed to environmental sustainability through youth education, community empowerment and collaboration.
